Types of Services

Choosing how to commemorate your loved one is a personal decision.  The type of service chosen varies from each family. 

One thing that is constant is a service that provides a focal point for remembrance and provides emotional value into the future. 

Families still choose to say their goodbyes through visitation and a funeral service.  The visitation usually occurs the day before the funeral service.  The immediate family may bring in photographs, personal mementos or awards to spark memories of their loved one to honor their life lived.




Full Traditional Funeral Service 


There will be a viewing / visitation.  The family may want to receive friends.  You will have a funeral service for the deceased at the funeral home or a church.  A grave side service will take place at the cemetery.  If the deceased is a veteran you may choose to have military honors.  
 

Graveside Service

The total funeral service takes place at the place of interment (Cemetery).  The family may choose to receive friends the night before or the day of the graveside service.  If the deceased is a veteran you may choose to have military honors.

Cremation With a Memorial Service

A funeral service where the body is not present and a cremation has taken place. The remains might or might not be at the service.  This service could be held at a church or the funeral home.   If the deceased is a veteran you may choose to have military honors.  There may be a private family visitation before cremation.

Traditional Cremation with a Memorial Service

There will be a viewing / visitation.  The family may want to receive friends.  There will be a funeral service for the deceased at the funeral home or a church.  The deceased will be cremated following the services.  If the deceased is a veteran you may choose to have military honors.  




Direct Cremation 

A cremation will take place.  The family might or might not choose to have private family services.   There may be a private family visitation before cremation.










Military Honors

A veteran service is an experience that is very moving because this person served their country with honor.  The veteran will have a flag triangle folded or draped over the casket and at the committal service a flag folding  presentation will be presented.
